GSC Game World brought “bad” news today, such as the delay of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl from April 28 to December 8 this yearWhich will be when it hits PC via Steam, Epic Games, or the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
We say “bad” news, because it is seven months late, or rather, seven months to polish a game and reach the height, since in 2021 it became normal for the most anticipated titles of the year to arrive full of criticism because they were half done and full of bugs. At least let’s hope it doesn’t come with a graphic downgrade, of course.
We have made the decision to postpone the release of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl to December 8, 2022.
These additional seven months of development are necessary to fulfill our vision and reach the desired state of the game. STALKER 2 is the biggest project in GSC’s history, and requires extensive testing and polishing. We are convinced that development should last as long as necessary, especially in the case of a project of these characteristics.
This decision is not an easy one, but we are doing our best to bring you a game that lives up to the hype.
With more information, updates, and presentations to come, we have an exciting and important year ahead of us. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
With love, the GSC Game World team.
