Silicon Power announced the release of its new high-performance PCI-Express 4.0 SSD, the XPOWER XS70, which also takes advantage of and promotes for the PlayStation 5, since it more than meets the requirements demanded by Sony for its use on a console.
This translates into reaching sequential speeds of patient 7300 MB/s for writing and patient 6800 MB/s for writing, existing models of 1, 2 and 4TB capacity, and all this topped off with a sleek aluminum cooling system that features channels designed for airflow from the system itself to further reduce unit temperatures.
We know little else about Silicon Power XPOWER XS70, since the company does not reveal either the controller or types of memory chips used, we only know that it has a DRAM cache, offers a lifespan of up to 1.6 million hours, the unit is backed by a 5-year warranty, and its price was not disclosed.
“The new XPOWER XS70 PCIe 4.0 SSD from Silicon Power (SP) is about to take gaming to a new level with its exhilarating performance and unique design that will give the most demanding gamers the necessary boost to take on their opponents for hours.” .
Inspired by shark gills, the XS70’s unique heatsink design, with carefully angled grooves, allows it to breathe even during the most intense gaming sessions. Heat is easily dissipated through the slots in the heatsink to prevent overheating and maintain superior performance. The XS70 is not only as ferocious as a shark in terms of performance, it can also breathe like one for great durability while maintaining stability.”
